This physical feat is all in aid of 2 uk-based charities; the Backup trust and St Michaels Hospice:
St Michaels Hospice is a 30 bed unit which provides palliative care and support to the communities of Hastings and Rother in East Sussex, a relative population of 183,000. In July 2015 St Michael’s hospice was the victim of an arson attack resulting in the evacuation of patients and staff to a temporary nursing home facility. We hope that our fundraising will help support the rebuilding of the hospice in the wake of the devastating fire.
The Backup trust is a national charity that provides holistic support to people following spinal cord injury. Their mission is to inspire people affected by spinal cord injury to transform their lives, challenge perceptions of disability and deliver services that build confidence and independence and offer a supportive network.
